Musings for a day.

I looked at the beauty of the full moon that shown down on me last night. It’s mysterious planet-like look and it’s illuminating light is like a lamp turned on by God every night when it gets dark for me to view if I should want or need it. It’s light reaches down to show me how incredibly complex the vast expanse of the moon and sky are before me. The moon is so far away and it stays there night after night, year after year. Amazing. What human hand could ever pull something like that off?

And how many millions of people are in and have been in this world? And how many will come after you and me? Each person alone is a unique creation, like a snowflake, where no two are ever alike. Totally amazing. The circuitry of each and every cell and how it is made within each person’s body holding unique DNA, RNA, mitochondria, chromosomes, Golgi apparatus, and the like ‘knowing’ their job and doing it day in and day out consistently over our lifetimes.

I love the special order and knowledge that this speaks of and that I see from all of this. The stability and the knowing that God is in control of everything.

Of course there is unstableness too. Relationships, earthquakes, wars, and the like. Doesn’t it look like sometimes that the whole earth is groaning and turbulent? That the world is full of chaos also?

This world was orchestrated by and for God. We can see life’s chaos but also it’s order, complexity, and beauty. Psalm 19:1-6 states, ‘The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun. Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race. His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.’

God and his word bring hope to any darkness, in our lives and in our world. His word provides harmony and his truth and peace for all in the world. In fact the more you read it, the more you start to understand how little you really know. Each detail of this book has a reason for being there. It is an exhaustive book, meaning you can study it deeply and still learn more each and every time you read it. Even going over the same chapter or verses that will happen. There is so much to glean and new insights come, enriching your life as nothing ever has before. It is a supernatural book, beyond science and the law of nature. Hebrews 4:12 states, ‘For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow; and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.’

He first loved me. Shown by the cross. He gave me a gift. And he gives freely to all who come and seek him with all their heart. And what a gift! It is such a mystery and a new knowing of things from God I never knew before! He drew me over time. Now I desire to live for him. Thank you God that you chose me, a sinner. Thank you that I have not been the same since receiving this free gift of God’s grace, through faith. Thank you God, for letting me get to know you and be in relationship with you! AND though I have not worldly riches, a high station in life, or the best of everything in this world; I would not trade what Jesus Christ has given me for anything. For it is mine and nothing can compare with it! Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life! And absolutely nothing compares with Him!

If we desire power, significance, or achievement these too are only what we think we really need. God does not want us to care about these types of things. That focus again is about self. We are too self-centered this day and age. Also Satan tries to use our weaknesses, things we care about too much – more than God even, getting us to focus on ourselves so as to get our eyes off of Christ so you do not get to know Jesus, or his word. Satan doesn’t want you to read the bible or get to know the only way to our only Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who is the narrow road and the only way to become born again! The ‘pearl of great price’ is an eternal gift, one given and of no charge to you. Nothing in this world is worth more. For this world and all that it has to offer is only temporary. After our deaths nothing material is taken with us. Let us think more on these things and start reading the bible.

For there is more to this world than what you can see. Much more. For instance there are angels, principalities, Satan, heaven, hades, the effect prayer has from a believer for others, sin, what Jesus wants us to think and to know through his word as soon as possible and before we die, and Jesus Christ. Have you read the bible? We each have a spirit. When it is our turn to leave this world, that is what we are without our bodies, spirit. After we die we either go to be with the Lord right away or there is hell. And Jesus desires we get to know him long before we die and go on into eternity. He desires you to do this right away in fact. It is never too soon. To read the bible (I suggest the KJV), come to know Jesus Christ and how much he loves you and how you can become born again by his grace, through faith. This is all important that you know this. He desires a relationship with you!

He sees and knows everything that has happened with everyone and at what time each thing occurred; and that includes all people from the past, present, and who will be in the future. Quite a thought isn’t it?! He is omnipotent (all-powerful), omniscient (all-knowing), and omnipresent (always present); so we will not be able to hide :). Psalm 139 starts out in verses 1-4, ‘O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me. Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. Thou compasseth my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether.’

Isaiah 46:10 states, ‘Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure.’

I pray you would find a real bible and a bible-believing church; one where you hear Jesus is alive, well, and active now in this world and for you. God’s grace, love, and faithfulness be with you!

Whether you are a Jew or a Gentile, Jesus is coming back one day!

Jesus Christ is a buoy and a light for you.

Jesus Christ is like a buoy that keeps you afloat, his words (think the KJV bible, not the kind that are unbiblical – yes there are many heretical ones out there now folks!) are navigation tools warning us of a danger and other hazards, keeping you where it is safe under his care. Like a very caring parent concerned for their child.

Even if I have a not so great day, after time spent with him whether at that time or the next morning, I am lifted back up by him knowing I am going to be all right because of our relationship and having him in my life. He reassures me I am not alone and helps me in what to think, and the result from during and after visiting with him is a feeling of real joy and peace. This is priceless. Truly knowing that everything is set back in place, settled again as it should be. For the believer, Romans 5:1-2 states, ‘Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.’ Isaiah 9:6 also says in part…’And his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.’ Are you ready to get to know him?

Jesus is our light so we can always look up to him in our hearts and think about him and ask for help. We are dependent on him. He made us this way. Did you know every person is born with a God-shaped void inside them? Now to help you, we should be in his word each day because that’ll gives us true direction from him and light for our lives. In John 1:8-9 John (one of the apostles) first tells us about himself and then Jesus, ‘He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.’ Jesus is my foundation, and he and his word are my supporting structure, he is my rock and I count on him. He is my Savior, my teacher, and my best friend. In life every one has valleys and trials, but if you have Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, he is going to help you get back up again and again. He will be your strength and your life, and you will not be built on shifting sands that are undependable or unsafe for you. He is always there for you and will be your helper and comforter through any suffering. He will be there for you guiding you in his knowledge, understanding, wisdom, and truth. And you are never alone as a true believer, never. He will be with you while on this earth and for all eternity. Jesus is our light. He is the way, the truth, and the life. Listen to John 14:6 after Thomas, one of the apostles, asks Jesus how can we know the way?, ‘Jesus saith unto him,’ “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

Jesus tells us in his word we must come to him humbly, lowly, and contritely (showing him that you are truly sorry and know you are guilty of your sins and you want him to change you). We are to come even as a little child if we desire to know Jesus Christ and who he is. He will know if you are. And if you become a born again Christian you will know it and know that you have become a new creature in Christ. And you will start learning to walk by faith. 2 Corinthians 5:17 states, ‘Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.’ You will be learning so much and love it! But this is not to say normal life doesn’t carry on. We will continue to grow and sometimes we may have to go around more than once or twice or three times to understand the lesson Jesus is trying to teach us. And I have been slower to get some things than I care to admit. And I have been brought around the wagon, more times than I want to realize, to really learn a particular thing he has wanted me to understand about life. We do learn and grow more through our sufferings than at any high points but Jesus loves us and allows us to go through these times for us to grow and mature. Just make sure if you’re going around what seems like a few too many times about the same thing in your life that you ask God to help you understand what it is he wants you to learn from it so you can move onto new horizons!

Jesus fills my heart with joy and thanksgiving each day. As only he can. My husband, children, grandchildren, and others can help do this too but they alone cannot give me all I need. This is because I as well as you were built needing something spiritual to complete us. We are created with a void in us that only God himself can fill. God gave us this void to be filled by Jesus Christ. That is why God’s word was given to us and why Jesus Christ was sent by God, in the flesh, to die for us. Jesus Christ had to die for our sins, to complete the way for how we are able to come into a relationship with God himself. Do you have a relationship with him yet?

The bible says we were made for praising him. Beautiful words from Psalm 139:13-16 confirm this and state; ‘For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.’ Do you not sense and feel the depth, love, and magnitude of such a thing from God? Does this not create wonder and great joy in you just knowing this!

Jesus Christ, as the light of the world, shares his light with me and will share his light with anyone who will come after him and ask him, seek him, and knock on his door. Matthew 7:7 in the King James Version bible Jesus states, “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.” John 1:4 states, ‘In him was life; and the life was the light of men.” John 14:6 says, ‘Jesus saith unto him,’ “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” Being a born again Christian I am ready to shine light into the darkness for any who have need. I had need and came to know him through grace by faith in Jesus Christ. Just read these words in Hebrews 11:6, ‘But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.’ Are you not excited? I am! In John 8:12 Jesus says “I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” My friend he is talking about here on earth and for eternity!

The bible tells us of Jesus’s great love for us and to come to him just as we are right away. I suggest you start reading the Authorized KJV bible. This bible does not cut out forty two verses from it like the translations that came after the KJV, from people tampering with God’s word. Find one that has Jesus’s words written in red letters and has indexed chapters so you can find the chapter easily when looking for one. Jesus Christ died on the cross, was buried, and rose again three days later for you and for me so we might come to know him as our own personal Lord and Savior, and be able to start our very own relationship with him and become born again by his grace through faith. He is risen and alive and waits for you!

Remember Jesus can be your buoy and light out there in the ocean of life! He has all our answers.

Whether you are a Jew or a Gentile, Jesus if coming back one day!

What say you about ‘judging?’

Romans 2:1 states, ‘Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.’

Often sins most clearly noticed in others are ones that have taken root in us they say. Are we maybe committing the same sins only in more socially acceptable forms? Are we saying one thing to someone hypocritically and then doing it in a way we don’t think is the same? Do we not like that ‘something’ we know about someone else, but refuse to see that ‘different form’ in us? For instance, do you wonder ‘what people are thinking’ when they hear about ‘another’s adultery,’ but you fail at holding yourself accountable for mentally thinking about or daydreaming about someone other than your own spouse during the day and think nothing has been done wrong? Your thoughts do count. In Matthew 5:28 Jesus himself says, “But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery in his heart.” We need Jesus’s help in cleaning out all the corners of our lives. Come to his word and read and learn.

In the bible there is a parable about a woman committing adultery and the casting of the first stone. The people with the stones had judged her and wanted to give her what she deserved. The law stated if a woman was found in adultery she was to be stoned to death. She had went against the law. But what is better? Truly put yourself in her place. If that was you and your particular sin, would you want justice or mercy? Shouldn’t we treat others the way we want to be treated? The bible says love covers a multitude of sins. But what about the sin? Jesus says to the woman in John 8:10… “Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?” Verse 11 states, ‘She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her,’ “Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.” He didn’t condemn or ignore the woman’s sin. The woman has been spared her life even though sinning against God. But Jesus’s words ‘go and sin no more’ would tell her that Jesus expected her to change and to stop sinning, that he loved her and he didn’t approve of her doing this. Jesus can not dwell with sin for he is holy. His thoughts are not our thoughts. He is God and he is our authority. He loved this woman but not her sin. Jesus knew she needed help and desired a change of heart through all this and that she would need Jesus’s help. Why? Just being in the Lord’s presence she would have instantly felt and knew more intensely than before that she’d been doing wrong and realized she desired to change things and didn’t want this way of life anymore. She had met the living Lord. She knew she had to do something about this wrong in her life. She knew that she had been sinning and now knew she needed his help and desired to repent and ask Jesus for forgiveness and to be cleansed of it all. Jesus Christ is the only way to obtain forgiveness and to be cleansed of all our sins too. This woman was being given a new chance for a brand new life and wanted to deal with her sin. She didn’t want it anymore. Jesus is the only way sin can be dealt with in this life. He came for us all and died on the cross, to provide the sacrifice needed for our sin. God’s word tells us narrow is the road and not many find it. Jesus is this narrow road. The woman is totally dependent upon Jesus to provide her with his saving grace through faith, and all that she needs to change to be able to live this new life in him that she now thirsts for.

How about judging by ‘the worlds’ standards; power, wealth, status, pleasure, and beauty? These false values are not from Christ, but they are from this world. They are worldly values and thus not God’s values. Jesus and his Word are not of this world. But because of his great love for us he sent us his word so we can understand things. God tells us worldly standards are only distractions that will lead you to a distructive end if you don’t realize it. They will only serve to entangle you and waste your time and energy, and hurt you in the end. These are not lasting Christ-like values that God says we should focus on. In fact we need to do the opposite and walk away from thinking, speaking, and acting like these are what we are running after in life. If Jesus Christ doesn’t focus on them should you even care or spend time on such things? James 4:4 states, ‘Ye adulterers and adultresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.’ Strong words telling us that whatever wrong things we may choose to do, go against God, and go against his all encompassing love for you and for your well-being. Those false values and strivings of this world will not be a part of eternity and so have absolutely nothing in common with God and what he values. It is about yourself and not about thinking correctly from God’s viewpoint of what’s right and what’s wrong for yourself. Your eyes need to get off yourself and to get and stay on Jesus Christ my friend. Friendship with the world is the opposite of what God says to have. It goes against God’s great love for you and what he knows you need most. Which is him, his forgiveness, and his values so his word (the bible).

Here’s an example of what Jesus wants us to focus on… Let’s just look at four women that happen to be listed in Christ’s genealogy from Matthew 1. From verse 3: #1) Thamar (Tamar) – she prostituted herself  with her father-in-law to gain an heir for her deceased husband’s lineage. The story is found in Genesis 38 if you care to read the whole story. Verse 5: #2) Rachab (Rahab) – she was a prostitute who hid Israelite spies. Verse 5: #3) Ruth – a Moabite woman who came from pagan roots. She married Boaz. Verse 6: #4) ‘of her that had been the wife of Urias’ (Bathsheeba) – committed adultery with King David. All of these women had ordinary lives and none were pillars of society. And some we are told of their shady reputations. But God chose to show us his love in this writing and that he can choose anyone in life and show them his love, no matter their story. God had his own reasons for including these women in Matthew 1. Maybe God wants to show people his heart of love and concern for everyone and hopes that they desire a new life in him, and that he has something real to offer them for the rest of their lives and for eternity. This too shows us that we should come and repent of our sins to Jesus too. If you’re reading this don’t you think he could have planned on you reading this? He tells us to come just as we are even now. He tells us we can be forgiven and have a new life in him and become new creatures. Jesus is telling us through these women’s lives how he accepts anyone who comes believing in him, through his grace by faith. We aren’t our sin if we come to Jesus and repent. We can be rid of the weight of sin that burdens us. Read the KJV bible for yourself and see. Start in the new testament like with the book of John, then try Romans.

If Jesus can look beyond a person’s bad reputation, outside appearance, wealth, poverty, station in life, and all the rest, so can we. In fact we should and need to. If Jesus looks at a person’s heart, so should we. We need to practice this until we get it straight and of course we’ll need his help for we cannot do it by ourselves. Look to these four women as examples of how God looks at people. Women he chose to have written about in the bible, noting them because he loved them and shows us as it says in Romans 8:28, ‘And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.’

Christ didn’t come to condemn. He came to save. In John 3:17 Jesus says, “For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” Did you ever read about Jesus in a story where he didn’t ‘come with love’ to talk to a person about their sin? There was no loud voice, no oppressing against their will, no putting down, no intolerance, and no side-lining the issue. Only humbleness, lowliness, love, and grace. Isn’t he the best example of how to be and live? Just the best example of how to treat and love the other person, and ourselves too.

One more thing. Jesus does want us to be able to ‘judge’ right from wrong, or what is sin. His word, the bible, will give you the truth and discernment you will need to know the difference between them. The biggest issues of the day are in the bible too. Make sure you take the time for yourself each day and educate yourself from his perspective. A biblically doctrinal church is also a good place for fellowship and hearing the word. Start with looking online at a church’s statement of beliefs and what their doctrine is. It should all follow what’s in the bible for it to be doctrinal. And the bible itself has to be not written by any one man or by any group that is ungodly. This is why I just stay with the KJV bible, one that has Jesus’s words in red print and also has the chapters of the bible indexed for you, making it easier to find passages you might be looking for. Selfishness, haughtiness, pride, and hypocrisy are all just a few examples of sin. All are ‘heart’ issues, that need help cleaning it up. And Jesus is just the person to help you, and all of us, do it. Proverbs 4:23 states, ‘Keep thy heart with all diligence: for out of it are the issues of life.’ So true my friend. May God bless you.

Whether you are a Jew or a Gentile, Jesus is coming back one day!
